As Chairman of the Board I thought it would only be appropriate
to nominate myself for Dog of the Month. I hope everyone enjoys the
information I have provided for my fellow K9's.
My name is Yahtzee Von Alcazar Zwinger. I am a pedigreed
German Shepherd who lives in a neighborhood called Russian Hill in San
Francisco. My name, Yahtzee, comes from an old German tradition. A letter
in the alphabet identifies each pack that is born into my family. I
was born in the "Y" pack therefore my first name had to start with a
"Y".
I enjoy going for at least four walks a day. There is
a really nice place in Russian Hill called George Sterling park. I walk
there at least two times a day. The "no leash" law is my favorite part
about the park. I enjoy chasing balls there and if my humans forget
the ball, there is always a pinecone to be found.
When I am out and about in my neighborhood there are a
few dog friendly stores I really enjoy stopping by. The Jug Shop on
Pacific Street really knows how to treat a dog. Sometimes I get up to
three bisques. Another place I enjoy visiting in the neighborhood is
Video City. I can always find a great movie to rent. They have two locations.
One is located on Polk Street and the other is on Pacific.
On the weekends I like to venture out of my neighborhood
and head for the beach. My favorite No Leash Beach is called Crissy
Fields. Dogs are always running around, swimming and taking each other's
balls or sticks, so be prepared and have fun. Another weekend favorite
is "City Hiking." This is the best way to explore San Francisco because
you get out of your neighborhood and experience new terrain. We like
stopping along the way for a bite to eat or drink at the many S.F. restaurants
with outdoor tables. Now, enough about me. Get out my fellow K9's and
make the most of your "CITY."
Believe me, San Francisco is a great place to be a dog.
I'm sure you think so, too, or you wouldn't be visiting this web site.
I want to learn more about my city and my four-footed friends so please
send me a photo, if you have one, together with a brief biography and
a list of the places you like to go -- and why. I will sniff through
your responses and the one that has the best flavor will be featured
as our "Dog of the Month!" C'mon now, it just might be you!" Nuff said!!
